JTKC Group of Companies was founded in the year 1947 when John Tiu Ka Cho spearheaded the Union Harware in Downtown Manila where the store established its name thru its wide selection of lock sets and tools. The Manila Steel Manufacturing Company was later on opened because of the gained success of Union Hardware in the year 1950. Followed by the Goodyear Steel Pipe Corporation and Goodwill Steel and Wire company in the early 1960s making it the major facade of JTKC Group. After this, they decided to move into another industry which specializes on chemicals and plastics introduced by Winston Industrial Corporation, Philippine Calcium Industries, and Winsteel Industrial Corporation. It has expanded as well which includes the TKC Steel Corporation in Xiamen, China, and Stronghold Corporation. Kent Floors is also introduced which expertise is into vinyl tiles since 1983 including wood laminates as its product, solid wood, and engineered wood. Tiu Ka Cho didn #39;t stop there, he continued to grow his business by entering the real estate industry. Dakota Mansion, the first service apartment was opened in the 1970s. Next in line is the Mabini Mansion in Manila, located in Makati is the Amorsolo Mansion, and Boulevard Mansion located in Manila. You can also add the Gilarmi Apartments in the 1990 along Ayala Avenue. JKTC continues to expand and enrich its real estate arm by the offering of Discovery Suites in Ortigas, followed by the Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay, and in Boracay without failing the guests in terms of its quality. They also try their luck into the bankong industry thru Iremit Inc. and Sterling Bank of Asia. The former aims to provide a money remittance business benefiting the OFWs, and the latter is a savings bank established last March 30, 2007 with the best customer service.
